Our History

1948

Rev. S. L. Hale along with his wife Daisy, and a handful of family & friends, came together to form the Church of Jesus.  The church was located on 8th. Avenue in North Nashville. The fledgling congregation soon began to grow as a spirit of revival and anointing pervaded in every service. Many souls were born into the family of God,and gifts of healing were common place throughout those early years.

1960

The church relocated to the East Nashville area at one point Pastor Hale bought a house on Hancock St. and the church was renamed to, The Full Gospel Church of Jesus Christ. An atmosphere of worship and revival always prevailed and many people were introduced to the Apostolic Message as Pastor Hale preached without compromise the Oneness of God, and the Acts 2:38 plan of salvation.

1969

The property on Meridian St. was purchased with a house connected to it as the parsonage. Pastor Hale continued to lead the congregation until 1991 when age and ill health forced him to step down and pass the shepherd’s staff over to another.

1991

Rev. Samuel E. Pruitt along with his wife Sis. Darlene, and children, took up the shepherd’s staff and continue the work begun some 43yrs. earlier.

2010

A fire broke out and much of the structure was damaged beyond repair. The next 2 years were very difficult without having a regular meeting place. During that time we lost some of our congregation but the Lord had greater things in mind for Christ Family Church!

2012

We moved into our current structure which sits on 9 acres at 2320 Baker Station Rd. Just north of Goodlettsville, TN.  With a new location and new building, we also have a new vision of a great future by the help of the Holy Spirit and continued leadership of Pastor Pruitt.
